3D Drawing Pen with Three Filament Coils

A 3D pen lays down a line of plastic that hardens as it leaves the tip, so a drawing can be lifted off the paper and stood up. Draw a square, draw three more, join them, and there is a cube on the table.

The tip on this one runs at a very low temperature. That is the difference between a 3D pen a child can use and a workshop tool they cannot, and it is the reason this pen is in a toy shop at all.

It charges over USB, so it runs off a power bank or a phone charger with no batteries to buy. Three coils of filament come with it — pink, blue and orange — enough to work out what the pen does before more is needed.

It is a one-button pen rather than a machine with a menu, so the learning is in the hand rather than in the settings. Marked on the box for ages 3 and up; an adult should still set it up and stay with a younger child using it.
